ASOS launch Europe's first fully integrated Facebook store.
Over the past few years, enterprise have sought to capitalize on the popularity of social media but few have managed to successful develop a method of creating revenue from it. Rather, most companies have been using social media as a customer service or interaction tool, that is until now.
Earlier this week saw the launch Europe’s first fully integrated Facebook store by fashion retailer ASOS. The Facebook page now offers the same e-commerce experience as the popular website through a fully integrated, in page Facebook app. The site allows users to view items, “like” them, share items and comments on certain items on your Facebook profile, see which items your friends have also liked within the store and complete a purchase without ever leaving the ASOS Facebook page.
Is this sustainable model for the future or will it be perceived as too intrusive and be rejected by Facebook users?
One thing is certain, this new Facebook experience is a vast development for businesses using Facebook as a commercial tool.
